5 New years’ beauty resolutions

  1. Think Minimalist:
Keep it simple and invest in basic skincare products from a cleanser, scrub/mask, toner, moisturiser to SPF.

New Year tip: Instead of applying toner on a cotton pad, speed up this step by just spraying it on.

  2. Take off your make-up before you go to bed:
No matter how tired you are at the end of the day, remember to be kind to your skin by removing your makeup. Using a cleanser alone may not remove everything properly, so ensure that the beauty products you are using is the right one.

New Year tip: Find mascaras that can be easily removed with just warm water.

  3. Clean your make-up brushes: If you are not already cleaning them, try to schedule it in weekly or monthly. These beauty tools pick up makeup, powders and creams, along with sweat and dirt from your skin. Leaving them unwashed means leaving your skin exposed to bacteria, which leads to irritation and breakouts.

New Year tip: If you don’t have a brush cleanser, just use shampoo and a conditioner.

  4. Don’t skip SPF: Even on a cloudy day, we need to protect our skin from harmful sunrays. Wearing sunscreen is a step that often gets overlooked but it is necessary to ward off possible skin cancers or sunburns.

New Year tip: Find a non-greasy, comfortable and high SPF product that you will use daily without fail.

  5. Scrub and mask on a weekly basis: No matter how good your skincare products are, they won’t absorb well if your skin doesn’t get a good scrub or mask to remove dead skin and dirt. Make time and your skin will thank you.

New Year tip: Don’t have time to do these two steps? Then find a product that offers a scrub and a mask at the same time.
